INSTALLATION
INSTALLING AND RUNNING THE OPTIMIZER
When
you put the Optimizer CD in your computer's CD drive, the
installation process should begin automatically. If installation
does not begin within ten seconds or so, double click the
"My Computer" icon on your Windows main screen, then double
click the CD drive icon, then double click the setup file
icon and follow the onscreen instructions. At one point
in the installation, you will see the prompt,
"Click
this button to install optimizer software to a specified
destination directory."
If
you click this button, the program files will be installed
by default in the directory "C:\Program Files\optimizer".
If you want to change this directory to the directory of
your choice, click "change directory," then select a directory
to install the program files, and then click the installation
button.
When
the Optimizer is installed, four files will appear in the
destination directory: optimizer, nfldata, nflsits, and
ST6UNST. The file optimizer is the Optimizer program file.
To run the Optimizer, click on the optimizer icon in the
destination directory or go to the lower left corner of
your Windows screen, click Start, then Programs, then optimizer.
Note:
The Optimizer 8 program and data files will have "8" at
the end of the file names.
To
uninstall the Optimizer, go to the lower left corner of
your Windows screen and click Start, Settings, Control Panel,
Add/Remove Programs. Then click on optimizer.
Monitor
Settings
The
Optimizer display will run on monitor settings of 800 x
600 pixels or larger. If you are having a problem seeing
an entire program screen, modify your monitor settings as
follows:
On your opening windows screen (with all the icons), go
to "My Computer", then go to "Control Panel" then go to
"Display" then go to "Settings". You should set your monitor
screen area to either 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 pixels. From
this screen go to advanced". Your font size should be "small
fonts."
If you are unable to set your monitor screen area as above,
you should upgrade your monitor driver as follows: From
the advanced "font size" screen (see above), click on the
"monitor" tab, then go to "properties" then go to "driver"
then "update driver."
Note:
depending on which version of Windows you have, some of
these screens may be slightly different than what is described
here.
