 Optimizer 2003 Pro Football Edition

EXAMPLES

For the 1997-2002 regular seasons, the Optimizer found the following situations:

The New York Jets were 24-6 versus the spread as visiting underdogs (80%success record). The home team was 54-25 versus the spread in December when their last game went Over and the visitors lost their last game (68.35% success record).

The home team was 12-0 versus the spread when the visitors were a 12 to 13 point underdog in their previous game (100% success).

Try the following examples yourself. Remember: Always click "reset" before making new selections.

Example #1:
Select SEA for team, 2001 for season, L for team's last game W or L, and click "get stats." The Optimizer finds all games in 2001 in which Seattle lost the week before. If you leave team blank, the Optimizer finds all games in 2001 in which the home team lost the week before.

Example #2:
Select NY JET for team, 1999-2001 for season range, optimize for spread range, and get stats. The Optimizer finds the optimal spread range for Jets games in 1999-2001.

Example #3:
Select BUF for team, =DIV for opponent, and get stats. The Optimizer finds all Buffalo interdivisional games in the database.

Example #4:
Select optimize for team, =DIV for opponent, 1997-2002 for season range, and get stats. The Optimizer finds the team that does best (or worst) when they play against teams in their own division. You'll see that New Orleans interdivisional road games went 16-4 Over (80%).

Example #5:
Select optimize for team, December for month, and get stats. The Optimizer finds the team that does best (or worst) in December.

Example #6:
Select optimize for team, 30-38 for over/under range, and get stats. The Optimizer finds the team that has the best over/under record when the over/under range is between 30 and 38.
